"Stand up for
your Rights"!
Robert Jordan generates energy and excitement in everything that he does. He was born and raised in San Francisco in the Chinatown District. His family's first two addresses were 949 Clay Street at Stockton, and 545 Grant Ave, at Calif. St.
When he was growing up their were three individuals who influenced hm when he was a teenager. was Mrs. Pauline Slade who was his elementary teacher. Mrs. Slade was very tough and demanded your best at all times. She knew how to get the best out of you.
Mr. Yori Wada was the Director of the YMCA located at 1530 Buchanan Street, and was loved by everyone of us. Mr. Wada was like a dad away from home. He would listen to the problems that all of us would have and then he would offer us some fatherly advice. He was a genius at solving so many of our problems as he was doing his job. I kept in touch with Mr. Wada even after he took a job with the YMCA located 220 Golden Gate Ave. He passed a few days after the last time I saw him.
Mr. Burl Toler, who was first R. Jordan,s gym teacher at Ben Franklin Jr. High School located at Scott. A few years later, he became the Principal of
Ben Franklin Jr. High. He also became a S.F. Police Commissioner. In 1965 he was then hired as the first NFL black referee, and also became the first black NFL referee to officiate a Super Bowl game. Once he retired from being an NFL referee he became one of the heads at the Community College District at 33 Gough Street. Mrs. Slade was one fine woman and Messrs. Yori Wada and Burl Toler were two outstanding gentlemen that took their time to steer us youth in the right direction. He will always be indebted to all three of these extraordinary individuals.
Jordan supervised in the U.S. Postal Service for 11 years, and spent 23 years in the the Security Industy, fighting to make the neighborhood a lot better for the residents, especially for the elderly and the children. He enjoyed working the special exhibit shows in the Downtown and Tenderloin areas at many of the fabulous hotels here in the city. He is very proud that he was always given the toughest, but most trusted assignments.
Robert attended George Washington Irving and John Swett Grammar Schools, Ben Franklin Jr. High, Polytechnic High School, CCSF, and SFSU. Robert has attended Lincoln University School of Law, and is a Baptist preacher. He also has and is studying voice and sings many types and styles of music. He has received the fine teaching instruction from some of the finest instructors at CCSF and
Laney College. They have provided him with the many different techniques that he has acquired in order to get the right sounds when he needs them.
Mr. Jordan is interested in making sure that San Francisco is very well represented and gets the necessary monies that will be needed to further the enhancement of the communities and the entire city.
He successfully worked on the passing of the Proposition B ballot that involved having the San Francisco Giants new stadium built at Third and King Sts. in 1982. And he would certainly like to get an opportunity in attempting to keep the San Francisco 49ers here in the City of San Francisco indefinitely. I have been watching them since the Y.A. Tittle and John Brodie era when they were playing at Kezar Stadium on the 700 block of Frederick Street.
If he is elected, he would make it a point to be out in the field throughout the city in order to meet and greet the tenants and seniors everywhere on a regular basis. He certainly looks forward to seeing a lot of you at the first fundraiser that his team is planning to have in the very near future. Your comments concerning this website will be greatly appreciated. And most of all thank you very much for taking the out the time to visit the website.
